A Purrfect Celebrity

Samson the cat, aged 16, hit the news when he won a bronze medal and silver bowl award in an international photography competition to find the world’s cutest pet.

He is now the star of a children’s picture book, “The Adventures of Sailor Sam” written and illustrated by his owner, our very own School Secretary, Angela Cater.
Angela spent every evening and weekend of the summer months creating the colourful and detailed illustrations. Samson was only too happy to model, and family and friends were recruited to play the human characters in the book.
Samson was somewhat bemused by his first public appearance, but behaved like a real professional, posing for the camera and allowing the girls to stroke and pet him.
Signed copies of the book, with a complimentary photograph of Samson, will be available to buy through School.
Once Angela has recovered the costs of self-publishing the book, she will be donating a percentage of all proceeds to her favourite charity, Riverhaven Elderly Cat Welfare.
