Back in the early 1980`s, contributing to the MHSG annual magazine was regarded by most girls as an amusing diversion. But for Angela, writing for both the school mag and the MGS newspaper, Mancunian, were the first steps in her career game plan to become a journalist. By the time she had left school she had already published short stories in the now defunct teen magazines Just Seventen and Mizz.

After leaving Manchester University with a 2:1 in English Language and Literature, Angela completed a postgraduate diploma in newspaper journalism at Preston Polytechnic.  She then spent six years as a news reporter for the Bury Times Newspaper Group ; chasing ambulances, covering royal visits, sitting through court cases and inquests, and hounding politicians about key local issues. While in the job she developed an interest in features and began contributing to the Manchester Evening News. Following the birth of her second child, she worked exclusively for the paper, writing for the women's pages, business magazine and colour magazine. She was also Children's Editor and had a weekly show business column.

Gradually Angela began freelancing for many national publications  including the Daily Mail, Daily Express, Marie Claire, SHE, Cosmopolitan and Glamour. She continues to do this today, writing features on a broad range of subjects, though her main area of interest is health journalism.

Angela also broadcasts regularly on BBC Radio Manchester where she reviews television programmes and comments on cultural milestones like Big Brother! She has also contributed to many other radio stations including Radio 4.

She is married to Martin, a chartered accountant, and the couple live in Prestwich with their four children.
