After Manchester High Ele studied French and Russian at Birmingham University and, after spending her summers doing work experience at law and accounting firms, she took up a place at PriceWaterhouseCoopers working in their Corporate Accounting division as a trainee auditor.  At that time the company had a strict policy of not keeping on employees who failed their accountancy exams so when Ele failed one after nine months she left.

Work experience in Human Resources showed Ele the career path she wanted to follow and she decided to take a further qualification to help in her job search. She was offered a place at the London School of Economics to study for a Masters in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management and graduated in 2001 with a professional HR qualification plus her Masters.

Ele started work with Deloitte's consulting arm in 2001 on their Graduate scheme and worked in the Human Capital division, specialising in People and Change, a large team who work for external clients helping them with anything  people related in their business - from training and development, change, communications, culture etc. She is currently working with a big newspaper group creating communications, managing their change programme and helping them to make the changes they need to become more profitable.

Ele  also works internally doing projects such as developing new ideas for sales, writing articles for journals and conducting graduate recruitment interviews. Enabling her to mentor more junior members of staff as well as helping with 'soft' skills such as CV writing, interview techniques and presentation skills.

Says Ele, "Manchester High was a great foundation for my job - I work with many different people on an ongoing basis and I definitely picked up those skills at school."
