Book Club

Emily reveals what 6D’s first Book Club was like:

Year 6 went to the Senior Library for our first session of Book Club. When we sat down in the library, we met, for the first time, the three librarians, Miss Hawker, Mrs Heys, and Ms Monson.

After a small talk, we picked our group name, which were the Bees, Ladybirds and Dragonflies. Each group had a corresponding book mark. Once we were all ready, each child was given a book. When we had all settled and a librarian was sitting with us, we started to talk about the books. Bees had ‘Dragon Keeper’ by Carole Wilkinson; Ladybirds had ‘Cloud Busting’ by Malorie Blackman and Dragonflies had ‘Someday Angeline’ by Louis Sachar. We were all given two weeks to read the book before we could discuss it with each other.

Everyone is looking forward to the next visit when we will have a different book.
