David Horner came to school to conduct a series of workshops on poetry. Originally an English teacher in a senior school, David now devotes his time to writing poetry and teaching his skills to children. Much laughter was heard as David entertained the girls hugely and encouraged them to use their language skills to compose their own poems.

The Infants showed off their talents to parents who heard a range of poems read by Year 1 and 2, and an entire ‘opera’ from Reception.

The Juniors enjoyed poetry readings when David shared some of his writing and this certainly motivated them in their creative efforts.
