A team of MHSG Old Girls gathered together for a round of golf. The day was organised by Ms Joan Royle and Mrs Hilary Taylor (née Ashworth) at Vicars Cross Golf Club near Chester.
At Manchester High, Joan was captain of the first hockey team and Hilary was a keen member of the second team. Hilary joked that while they are now both lady captains at their respective clubs, those earlier differences remain since her handicap is 27 and Joan’s is just 12!
With a little help from MHSG’s Chairman of Governors, Mrs Christine Walker, the duo tracked down a number of Old Girls and the day was well attended by 13 former pupils, ranging from the Class of ‘54 to the Class of ‘88.
After the team competition the ladies were treated to a fine supper provided by Joan. They all had a wonderful day.
