Skiing In Switzerland
[printer-friendly page] [printer-friendly page]

Students and teachers enjoyed a week of skiing at Haute-Nendaz, a small ski resort with access to the extensive Four Valleys in Switzerland. The snow conditions were very good, and clear blue skies and sunshine greeted the group on most days. The instructors from the Neige-Aventure Ski School were excellent and the girls had a lot of fun on the pistes, making quick progress.

Accommodation was provided at the Hotel Mont-Rouge which is a small, family run business. The staff were very welcoming and the rooms offered lovely views of surrounding mountains. Breakfast and dinner were taken in the adjacent restaurant and the food was excellent. Loris Lathion, a well-reputed chef in Switzerland, warmly greeted skiers with a sumptuous menu of each evening.

Every day, after skiing, the girls liked to relax together in their rooms, shop in the local village, go bowling, watch DVDs and play table football. Many of the locals commented on the friendliness, compatibility and excellent behaviour of the group.

At the end of the six days, everyone (including Head of Year 10 and French/Spanish teacher, Miss Davies, Head of Year 7 and Art and Design teacher, Mrs Scott, and Head of English, Miss Keegan) was awarded with a medal at a special presentation event.
